I find it interesting that since the 9/11 attacks the United States has taken the stance to be enemies of any nation harboring terrorists or are associated with terrorists nations. Yet, while we fight in Iraq, we neglect one of our allies who has been fighting the war on terror since its inception back in 1948, Israel. It used to be the stance of the United States that we do not negotiate with terrorists but over the years that role has changed. Now we are coercing them to negotiate for a lasting peace. If we are truly friends and allies of God's chosen people, then we should act like it instead of siding with the terrorists.

After much reading, I have come to the conclusion that any form of partitioning of Israel will be a mistake. If Israel won those lands back in self defence, then those lands are hers and the loss of the neighboring nations. There should be no restitution to the nations that initiated the attacks. Israel should not withdraw militarily but push foward to the limits of her borders. Also, as cruel as this sounds, the Palestinian refugees who refuse to assimilate into Israeli society (they always have the option of citizenship) should be deported out of the nation. I know this sounds bad but in the interest of national security, I feel it may be a better option than the one currently being sought.

As for the recent military strikes against Hamas, the UN and the rest of the world can decry these things all they want, but Israel is still at war. If the arab nations had accepted UN resolution 242 way back when (Israel's right to exist), then I seriously doubt we'd still be fighting against terrorism. Yet the desire is to drive them back into the Mediterranean.

Whatever the outcome, Israel is still protected by the living God and as Christians we should do what we can for any nation our God protects. Pray for Israel and Jerusalem.
