If the church and Christ are one through marriage, then if the church should die, shouldn't Christ die also? If the church dies, then total apostasy reigns and Christ isn't who he says he is. I do not recall the scriptures ever talking about the resurrection of the church here on earth. That being so, the marriage of the church and Christ should be eternal. If the church isn't eternal then there is no hope once the church dies.
